You can go in with an investigation group. Boyle Heights Paranormal Project manages group investigations open to the public. You can sign up for one of there future events to get in and see everything there is to see.
I understand that they have tours. I went about a year ago to check it out at the time they were filming there. I asked someone who lives next door if he's ever gone inside.? He said he's never seen anything when he's gone inside but perhaps he's lucky. Lol I hope to go one day soon.

I have been to this hospital several times. The windows in this hospital are not standard windows. These windows are very large that a 6ft man can stand within them. That is actually a flower bed not a ledge the apparition is seen in. the height looks about right here.

as a photographer I have some questions about the supposed ghost photo that was taken.
First I would like to say I believe 100% in ghosts. Second I will say I decided to look into this hospital more after seeing the Ghost Adventures show on the Travel Channel.
Looking at the ghost photo on this page I noticed that it is standing beside a standard hospital window, which is about 4 feet or so tall. The ghosts feet are on the ground.
Given the height of the window plus the distance from the landing to window, this would make the ghost only about 2 feet tall or so, give or take a foot or less, which would be okay for a "child" - however, the ghost has some pretty adult characteristics and I believe is even called a "woman".
I would love if the person who took the photo could give some details on this. Thank you

ok so here it goes I went to dinner with a co-worker about 630pm one night.We grabbed a quick bite from the nearby Subways on Caesar chavez....I then had a light bulb turn on and remembered that my buddy was a Rosevelt high school alum.. I asked him to show me the way to the Linda vista Hospital. Prior to this i saw the Ghost hunters episode and read the La Crimes I mean Times sunday edition a few days prior. So we drove up to the hospital and it was getting dark allready I then pulled into the driveway in fron of the hospital and a gentlemen came out of the other building which I now know was the insane asylum....
I told him we were just checking out the location but he told me he didn't speak much english so my friend started rapping to him in spanish. I believe he was the full time guard for the facility. He introduced himself as Jesus very nice man. My buddy asked him for me if I can peak inside. Now I cannot say how I got lucky about doing this but trust me he said sure...and gave me a full tour of the facility...lets cut the crap I wasn't feeling anything at first only until we went into the insane asylum did things started getting weird. First the guards flashlight drained on him my flashlight flickered and the lights in the hall way wouldn't turn on. Jesus said that never happened before. Ironically this all happened when he was going to take us down to the mortuary. at that point I said forget ill come back on another day if you don't mind He said come back in the daytime for you dont get scared hahahahahah.....to wrap things up I do believe there is something there it was creepy. If anyone has any questions please reply....

me and a couple of friend went to hospital one night and 1 30 am and my friend and two of my friends went close up to the hospitals entrance were after about 5 min into our investigation they heard a knock on the window of the main entrance and wen they started to run one of my friends said that they felt sum-thing holding t em back and not letting go then she fell so myself and a other friend went back as was walking towards the entrance sign i felt like they didnt want me there to leave it was hard for me to get in but i did as i was walking thro the sign i heard a little girls laughing and playing and as i walk a little more she said dont stop as i walk out of there that felling came back

I agree with the guys from Ghost Adventures. Sometimes you have to provoke a little to get get a response. Another good idea is too spread your team out and don't crowd the spirits. This is one technique that we use often. Keep in mind that the Linda Vista Hospital is not free to investigate! All of the paranormal groups you saw earlier in the show explaining what they experienced had to pay hourly fees to investigate. The hospital is managed for filmmakers and studios to shoot at. The 1st and 2nd floors have rooms and hallways that were built by studio art departments for filming TV shows, films, etc. They have many sets on those floors like a fake morgue, Detective's office, Police station, Operating rooms, offices, etc.

As a paranormal enthusiast/investigator I had never even heard of Linda Vista Hospital until last night(I am from Washington,DC). Well, that has definitly changed now after watching the newest "Ghost Adventures"show. These have learned their craft pretty much on the fly, learning by actually doing and by making many mistakes but at the same time these guys get better with each and every investigation and I can honestly say that they pretty much blow away all of the other shows now. I do not agree with many of their methods but hey, they damn sure get great results! The show started off during the day as they were doing their interviews of witnesses and getting shown all of the hot spots etc. Almost immediately things started happening and steadily progressed throughout the evening to a full bodied apparition! I would give my K-2 meter to be able to investigate this place! Maybe one day! It is absolutely crawling with trapped spirits due (probably)to many unnecessary deaths and tradgedies and shoddy medical treatment that this place was famous for. One can only feel horrible for all of the lost souls there, I pray that they find peace and move on soon.

This hospital is over by the old LA county USC medical center what most of you ppl see on tv as General Hospital. As both are very old buildings I have heard numerous stories from staff at both hospitals. Stuff like footsteps and ppl talking when no one else is there. Scary. Wouldn't it be fun to spend the night there by yourself? :)

The square in the photo is a blown up section of the digital photograph so you can see what I am talking about. The spirit is not in the window. It is to the right of it on a ledge area. The digital photo is real and untouched by any software. Sorry guys...This one is for real!
Two paranormal TV shows have just finished shooting there. "Ghost Adventures" and "Ghost Lab" investigated this hospital. Watch for them on Travel channel and Discovery.

The window the line is coming from is facing a different direction than the supposed ghost is? How are we to know that's the window? Couldn't someone have cut and pasted the "supposed ghost" on the hospital photo and drawn a line to any window?
I think to say the ghost was in that window there should be a photo of the ghost in the window and perhaps then an insertion of a closer view of that window with the "supposed ghost" showing up there.
I could have easily taken one of my photos and inserted that "ghost" photo on to it and it would be the same thing.
I'm just sayin'................the window isn't facing the camera in order for you to say the ghost was in that window. The "supposed ghost" is facing forward but that window is facing to the side. If you zoom in on that window, as I did, there's nothing there.

AND FELL IN THIS VERY ODD POSITION HE WAS UNABLE TO TALK FOR ABOUT COUPLE OF MINUTES THIS HAPPENED TO HIM AS I WAS YELLING IN THROUGH THE DOOR SO I WAS UN AWARE THAT HE HAD BEEN PUSHED WE WENT TO TELL OUR PARTNER WHAT HAD HAPPENED WHILE HE WAS SECURING THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOSPITAL LATER THAT MORNING LIGHTS WHERE FLICKERING IN THE PARKING LOT THE BIBLE PAGES OF OUR PARNER WHERE SLOWLY TURNING BACK AND FORTH TO THE SAME PAGE ONE OF THE TRAILERS GENERATORS WENT OFF AND IT WAS FULLY CHARGED.EARLY MORNING ONCE WE HAD LIGHT ONCE AGAIN WE WENT INTO THE 3RD FLOOR WHERE WE SAW THIS SHADOW GHOST TO FIGURE WHAT WE SAW EVERYTHING WAS SECURE THERE WAS NO WAY ANY ONE COULD HAVE GOTTEN IN ..... WE GO TO ANOTHER FLOOR AND I CAN TELL YOU WE ALL GOT THIS HEAVY PRESSURE AND SMELL LIKE DEATH THROUGH OUT THIS FLOOR ONLY... IN ONE OF THE ROOMS THAT I PEEKED IN FELT VERY UNCOMFERATBLE....
I GO CONSTANTLY TO THE HOSPITAL TO GO SEE THE CONDITIONS AND TO VISIT WHO EVER IS STILL THERE HOPING THAT I CAN SEE OR HEAR SOMETHING ONCE AGAIN ALL I GET IS FEELINGS OF SOME ONE KEEPING AN EYE ON ME.. MY HUSBAND LOVES GOING BACK EVEN THOUGH HE WENT THROUGH THAT EXPERIENCE HE SAYS HE HAS NEVER FELT LIKE THAT BEFORE NOT EVEN AT QUEEN MARY.. AND WE SAW THINGS THERE TOO...

There are always productions trucks there as it is a popular site for shooting films and TV shows by the industry. We are still waiting for our chance to investigate the inside. The place is always booked solid for filming and we need to do the investigation when the place is empty.
It should be soon as filming production slow down during the fall months.

I drove by there today to check it out...there was a production truck there and a few people outside. Must be making a show or something.
It's a very spooky looking place. There must be cops all over there at night because it's not vandalized like one would expect in that neighborhood.
