Point du Hoc, Normandy
by The Day Brothers
(England)
My brother and I visited Normandy recently and toured the various world war sights. Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery and we were both stunned by the loss of life. On the second day we started with a visit to the German Cemetery and then to Point du Hoc where the ground is still smashed from the boat guns from D Day landings. There were various bunkers and gun sites, which we climbed and investigated. Traveling round them in a counterclockwise direction from the car park we came to the last one we could enter. I had been taking photos all holiday and just as we were about to leave, I thought one more shot and photographed my brother in the entrance and thought no more off it. The next day as we were leaving France at Le Havre I thought I would have a look through the photos and I was shocked to find a white, well-defined image coming through the wall in front off my brother which was not there when I took the photo through the view finder. It made us both shiver.
I will endeavor to post/fix the picture to this email once I have found somebody who can help me do it.
