Visions of a confederate officer on the earth works, and reports of a lone sentry still standing guard at his post at Fort Fisher.

Both of these visions occur mostly during the month of January when two major battles occurred leading to the fall and capture of Fort fFisher.

Interesting 0230 Observation
by: Anonymous

While on a security mission for MOTSU I had the occasion to cross the road from the ocean front parking lot through the Pine Grove to the board walk. Time 0230.

I saw 4-5 young men within a fenced area in front of visitor center. Next day before leaving town my buddy and I returned to tour the fort. The iron fenced area could not hold that many men. After mission I returned to my car and all where gone. They were not living persons. One turned his head to look at me.

I felt a sense of comfort and peace in my very lonely early morning position(below flag on board walk) facing the cranes at MOTSU. An interesting experience.
