Ghost Story: Three Knocks and You're Out

My great grandmother used to live in a New Hampshire house that was over 200 years old. There is a story behind that house; if there is a knock at the door that comes three times and there is nobody there, someone in my family will die.
My great grandmother had said that she had heard knocks before, but it never went to a third knock. One day she died on her kitchen table in the middle of the night. It has been wondered if she actually heard those three knocks.
My family stayed at her house one weekend for her funeral. One of those nights my aunt and my grandmother were rolling a ball back and forth to each other, but it didn't work out so well. Each time they would roll it, it would stop in the middle. They checked to see if there was something on the ground that would cause the ball to stop, but there wasn't.
My grandmother then threw the ball out the door. Later that night when everyone was asleep, there was a knock at the door. They checked to see who it was-nobody was there. A second knock came-nobody was there. Then a third knock came. They checked one last time to see who it was-they opened the door and found that there wasn't a person at the door, but there was that very same ball bouncing on the doorstep.
