Alcatraz, San Fransisco Bay, California

I was up in San Jose California for a hockey game with my wife, my son and a friend of my son. We decided to drive to San Francisco and tour Alcatraz. Upon arriving at the prison, we started to follow one of the park rangers and listen to his history on the island, but it was taking far too long, so we decided to break off and tour ourselves.

We were walking up to the morgue, and on the left is a small structure with two doors and a window in each door. As I look over I see a person looking directly at me through the window. I turned to my family and said, "Did you see that guy looking at us through the window?" When I looked back, he was gone.

I walked to the doors and looked in the window to complete darkness and the doors were chained shut with a rusted lock. The hair on my neck was standing up.

He was pointy in features, grayish in color with receding, combed-back hair. I did not see his body but I would say he was approx. 5'6-7" in height, judging from the doors and him looking over the window.

This is something I will never forget.

Alcatraz is haunted
by: Cesar

Hey Ralph,

My name is Cesar and I submitted a picture of our trip back in 09 under "Alcatraz tour 09". That day as I walked with my kids through the administrative entrance to the prison I snapped a picture of a ghostly face. You can clearly make out the face and the very same pointy features that you describe in your encounter when you visited the prison. Let me tell you. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that paranormal activity exists on the rock. I believe that after everything that transpired in that place during the years of its operation there are still traces of souls that refuse to leave the place that caused them so much pain and sorrow during the time they were at the prison. Perhaps they are in search of something?
